Because we are talking about growing indoors, we will have to supply a light source. Normal lamps are less suitable for the job. A plant needs light of certain wavelengths, which are not or not present or strong enough in normal lamps. The Highlife Co. recommends the use of type SON T lamps. They are suitable for both the growth stage, as well as the flowering stage. Ballast's are necessary for these lamps. Ballast's of 600 watts have the most favourable output of delivered light per watt. Depending on the variety we recommend to use between 400 and 800 watts per m2. With insufficient light the plant remains light-green in colour cannabis seeds barely sproud, and becomes unnaturally thin and protracted. The buds will also remain smaller with insufficient light. cannabis manicurePosted on 3/5/2008 at 3:01 AM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkThis work must be done right. With scissors in hand, we start clipping the small branches off the main trunk of the plant and lay them on the screen. Pleasant music and some fine smoke are essential here, because you need to have a good buzz to sit there for a few hours (better than counting marijuana seeds). My manicuring team and I then start to take all of the extra leaves off the buds. We use our fingers to take the leaves off and use the scissors to cut the stems. After a while, sticky, smelly resin starts to stick to our fingers. and every couple of plants we have to rub it off into a bowl. This hash is priceless: no one ever sells it. The only way to get it is to grow it. some gardenersPosted on 1/29/2008 at 7:59 AM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkSome gardeners use a small heater to keep the temperature up and the humidity down during the lights’ off cycle. A dehumidifier serves both purposes, raising temperature and lowering humidity. As the temperature drops, the relative humidity increases. Hot air can hold more water than cold air. The same amount of water dissolved in cold air creates a higher humidity than when dissolved in hot air. An automatic humidistat operating a blower or dehumidifier can be left on during the dark hours for the big bud feminized. The well-equipped growth chamber with remote hygrometers and thermometers allows the grower to observe the conditions in the grow room during the dark hours, without disrupting the dark cycle.Rooting the cannabisPosted on 1/14/2008 at 6:58 AM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkGiven good conditions, cuttings usually root in one to two weeks. Some varieties are easier to root than others. For instance Big Bud, is notoriously difficult to root. Skunk and Northern lights are much easier to clone. Every gardener faces some problems with the garden at one time or another. Environmental problems, insects and diseases can create havoc among the plants and often leave the grower stumped. The best way gardeners have prevented problems has been to carefully examine the garden at least once a week. First a gardener looks at the entire space. Do the plants look healthy and vigorous? Is their color normal and bright? Then the grower examines a few plants closeup. Do they look healthy? Have they grown since the last examination? Do the leaves or any other plant parts show signs of nutrient problems? Taking a photographer’s x 4 or x 8 loupe, available at camera stores, the cultivator looks at the leaves of several plants. He asks, "Are there any abnormalities? Any insects or eggs on the undersides?" Next time the answer... |
